Rwanda Fiber Cafe De Mamas

The Coffee Mill

About This Coffee

Coffee where the entire process is done and led by Rwandan women. What is Peaberry anyway? Usually each coffee fruit contains two beans when they face each other. In some cases, only one bean develops in the fruit and because of the shape of the fruit it becomes round - this type of coffee bean is also called Peaberry. A wide variety of coffee beans grow in the volcanic mountains of northern Rwanda, in the Gikomby area. The growing conditions of the plants are ideal thanks to the high altitude - over 1450 meters, excellent soil and a tropical climate. Most of the coffee beans are processed using the WASHED method and are all collected to a station called Nova Washing Station A coffee pearl grown by the women of Rwanda: Nova Cafe Des Mamas The Rwandan women proudly carry the Nova Cafe project, doing everything from planting the trees to manually handling the coffee beans at all stages of processing. The processing station is managed by Agnes Mukamushinya and Felix Hitayezu who purchased the site in 2013, with the intention of increasing the farm's operational and production capacity to help the surrounding community. Through the partnership built with Rwanda Trading, Nova Café has been able to increase efficiency and quality, using its profits to further invest in the production of other farms in the area. After the 2015 season, they were able to install new technology washing machines, new tanks for fermenting coffee beans, new drying beds and a high-quality storage warehouse. Rwanda Nova Cafe des Mamas is a coffee with aromatic notes of black tea and chocolate. There is a distinct citrus acidity, good sweetness and a light and elegant body. *Recommended for filter and moka pot*
