Ethiopia Habtamu Fikadu

Camber Coffee

About This Coffee

This offering from the Uraga district of Guji is a sparkling and refreshing cup, with notes of ginger, black tea, lemon verbena, and maple. This lot comes from the Goro Bedessa washing station in the Uraga district of Ethiopia’s Guji zone, where cherries are collected from registered outgrowers at elevations exceeding 2100 meters. Managed with support from producer Habtamu Fikadu of Kuri Mountain Coffee, the site processed around 36 tons of parchment from 200 tons of cherry this season. Cherries are pulped with an Agard machine that separates floaters, fermented 48–72 hours in clean tanks, then washed, soaked, and dried on raised beds for 8–12 days with frequent turning and sorting. Farmers receive training in organic practices and shade-tree planting, while the station emphasizes worker safety and supports local communities. The result is a carefully crafted coffee that showcases both Guji’s highland terroir and Habtamu’s commitment to quality and sustainability.
