Ethiopia Guji Shakiso - Natural

Onibus Coffee

About This Coffee

From the Shakiso district of Guji, Ethiopia, we introduce naturally processed beans. Shakiso Station, located in Udo Hadama Village (Kebele), is where over 500 small farmers bring their cherries. Located at a high altitude of 1,950 to 2,100 m, it is an important base for specialty coffee production in the Guji Zone. Carefully selected cherries are dried on African beds for 10 to 14 days. Regular stirring during the day ensures a uniform finish, creating a floral aroma and complex fruity flavor. The cherries grown by farmers and brought to the station include native species such as Badessa, Wolichu, and Kudume, as well as improved varieties such as 74158, 74112, and 74110. The station employs 14 full-time staff and approximately 250 seasonal workers during the harvest season, ensuring equal opportunities and ethical working conditions. It has also acquired international certifications such as organic and RFA, and is working to achieve sustainable production and fair trade.
