About This Coffee

Proud partner of the Victoire Project, the Cinco Calles farm was founded in 1960 by Euladio Mora Valverde. The plants of the “La Karola” lot that we are presenting to you for the third consecutive year were planted ten years ago by Euladio's son, Abel Mora. La Karola is the Mora family's most precious lot. It is grown on a one-hectare plot of land at an altitude of 1,700 meters, irrigated by a natural water source and benefits from an ideal orientation providing a perfect balance of shade and sun on the side of the “La Cruz” mountain. The farm is not certified organic, but the Mora family manages it organically and sustainably and does not use any chemical pesticides or herbicides. It is now Steven Mora, Abel's son, who has taken over the reins of the farm. Steven has undertaken to renovate the family business, both physically and in terms of the business plan. Until very recently, the Mora family sold their entire harvest in cherries to cooperatives in the region, which have a hold on a large part of local production. Influenced by many farmers and bénificios in the surrounding area, having witnessed the increase in income generated by the creation of solid relationships with roasters, complete traceability and the increase in the quality of coffees, Steven decides to found his own bénificio. It is in this context that in 2019 the Victoire Project was born. This project initiated by Cantook aims to finance the improvements and development of Cinco Calles through various methods. Cantook's contribution has notably enabled the purchase of land and the construction of drying shelters. In 2023, the Mora family plans to improve its flotation sorting system. We are very proud to participate for a third year in the pursuit of Steven Mora's dream.
