Colombia San Gabriel Papayo

Gringo Nordic Coffee Roasters

About This Coffee

Here we have a smooth and balanced micro lot with a mildly fruity character! We purchased the coffee earlier this year at an auction, and only 60 kilograms are available. Graciela Rodriguez Ospina and her family - on the San Gabriel farm in the Huila region - produce great coffees, including the Honey Anaerobic Papayo Bourbon. San Gabriel has the idea of involving women in all the important tasks of the farm and offers them opportunities to flourish in their field. Graciela herself is convinced that women are capable of achieving anything, saying that "investing in women gives superior quality". After roasting this coffee, we couldn't agree more. The coffee cherries are picked at an altitude of 1,900 meters when they are dark red and full of sugar, then separated with water before being peeled and fermented anaerobically, without oxygen. The result is a complex and very smooth coffee with mild flavors of caramel, sweet chocolate, dried fruit, and peach.
