ETHIOPIA ARICHA - Filter
About This Coffee
The Ethiopian coffee cycle is affected by the three main climatic seasons: - Bega: October-January, the long dry period, crucial for coffee harvesting and processing - Belg: February-May, brings the first rains, essential for cherry blossoming and early fruit development - Krempt: June-September, brings heavy storms from the east, crucial for the later stages of coffee fruit development and ripening. By the end of September, the rains stop abruptly, allowing the cherries to ripen, leading to a busy harvest period until November. Ephtah focuses on sustainable supply chains, high-quality green coffee and supporting agricultural communities, especially women, who play a key role in the coffee sector in Ethiopia. Produced by farmers under the shade of false banana trees, this 9000 kg lot is grown organically. The cherries ferment for nine days, then dry for 13-18 days before being stored and transported to Addis Ababa, then to Djibouti for export. The processing is designed to highlight the special profile of Aricha.
