MISAEL OCHOA -Bourbon-

MISAEL OCHOA -Bourbon-

Aoma Coffee

About This Coffee

This season's first Honduras is from a special Bourbon. Complex flavors of Kyoho grapes and red apples. The aftertaste is long, with a lingering mellow sweetness of milk chocolate and raisins. Please enjoy the special flavor of Mr. Misael, who mainly produces Bourbon varieties, which is rare in Honduras. Mr. Misael immigrated to the United States 20 years ago to support his family's financial difficulties. In his harsh working life as an illegal immigrant, he fondly remembered the days when he worked on a coffee farm with his father when he was young. Since then, he has always had the dream of ``someday I want to grow coffee on the farmland in my mountains.'' In 2013, he returned to Honduras, purchased land with remaining original forest trees and good soil, and started producing coffee. After that, he learned that specialty coffee was being produced in the nearby mountains, visited San Vicente, received advice, and prepared his first micro-lot specialty coffee the following year. He has been continuously producing micro-lots for the specialty market for the past few years and is proud that his coffee is highly appreciated. Currently, coffee is washed with a temporary water supply system, and he aims to improve this water project into a permanent facility within the next few years. He believes that by establishing a stable water supply system, he will be able to process coffee more efficiently and sustainably.
