Brazil - Ninho da Águia
About This Coffee
Clayton Barrossa is one of the well-known names in the specialty coffee scene in Brazil, and our latest microlot from Ninho da Águia is just as memorable as the man himself. With a lush caramel sweetness, this beautiful coffee shows another dimension of the terroir in Caparaó: a fruity Brazilian coffee with exceptional complexity. In the cup, this microlot radiates with a fruity character reminiscent of the famous Brazilian figs. As with our earlier releases from Clayton, the profile is full and silky smooth, with a rich body and abundant mouthfeel. This is one of the best Brazilian flavors we have ever tasted. Clayton is a true rock star within the new generation of coffee farmers in Brazil. Due to the cool and humid climate, the harvest takes place from June to December. Only fully ripe coffee cherries are carefully hand-picked, sorted and slowly dried on raised beds. The drying period of 20 to 30 days ensures an even consistency in the beans and a deep, defined flavor.
