About This Coffee
The Jolly Roger is our annual holiday blend. Meant to represent our esprit de corps, the pirate ag, and how, on the high seas of South City Saint Louis, we launched our DIY voyage to make treasured coee experiences for all who enter. Every year we work to create a blend that represents aspects of Thanksgiving dinner, without the politics. This means we set out to create a cup that is a little savory, a little sweet, a little pie spiced and all this with a side of cranberry sauce (canned or homemade). This year we blended in a coee from Chiapas, the same coee we used in our collaboration with Perennial Ales for the Sump Stout - this is the base and dessert component. Then we add to that a AA Kenyan coee from Gakundu to bring in some brightness to suggest cranberry, plums and mandarin oranges. The resulting blend, to balance the two halves of itself, likes a slightly coarser grind than you might grind either component separately, so if you had the Mexico last week, I would open up your grinder slightly this week to see all that this coee has to oer. Look for notes of cola, plum, cinnamon, cranberry, caramel and a hint of mandarin.
