About This Coffee

This washed coffee from the Gachatha Farmers Cooperative in Nyeri, Kenya, is vibrant and dynamic, opening with raspberry candy sweetness and layered with the herbal-florality of bee balm. A subtle chardonnay-like savoriness adds depth, while plum brings a juicy, rounded mouthfeel that carries through the finish. Produced by approximately 900 smallholder farmers, this lot includes SL28, SL34, Batian, and Ruiru 11 varietals. Cherries are fermented in open concrete tanks for 24–48 hours, washed thoroughly over 1–3 days, and dried on raised beds to preserve clarity and structure in the cup.
