About This Coffee

This magnificent lot from Kotowa Coffee, more precisely from their new Silvia Marina farm, was grown at 1,900 meters altitude. Acquired in 2017, Silvia Marina embodies a project of soil regeneration and ecosystem restoration. Formerly dedicated to the intensive cultivation of potatoes and onions, the land was impoverished and biodiversity almost disappeared. In the space of seven years, Ricardo Koyner and his daughter Victoria have given life back to this place by reintroducing large native trees with low shading, gradually recreating a microclimate favorable to coffee cultivation. Moisture has returned to the soil, birds have begun to nest again and local wildlife has returned to its place. In 2025, the farm celebrated its first full harvest of coffee, marking a turning point for Kotowa. Named Silvia Marina in homage to Ricardo’s mother, a figure of the second generation of the family, this farm symbolizes the resilience and dedication passed down from generation to generation. This natural Geisha is the fruit of this renaissance. A rare and refined coffee, of remarkable aromatic complexity. In the cup, it reveals floral and sweet notes of jasmine and blueberry, accompanied by a slight acidity of orange and an exotic sweetness of papaya. An exceptional coffee, a true reflection of the patience, know-how and visionary spirit of Kotowa Coffee.
