Ethiopia Banko Dhadato Washed
About This Coffee
After a one year hiatus, Banko Dhadato returns to Huck, rounding out our washed Ethiopias from the 2025 harvest! Bright, floral, complex and full of stone fruit + melon flavors, we may have saved the best for last! Banko Dhadato is one of the 22 cooperatives that make up the Yirgacheffe Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union, and and while Huck roasts coffees from both private washing stations and cooperatives, we’re always happy to support YCFCU. YCFCU is a longstanding leader in organic farming and sustainable agriculture in Ethiopia, and over the past 6 years, we’ve homed our focus on the Banko Dhadato and Aramo Cooperatives, usually featuring coffee from one of the two cooperatives, in our single origin lineup, Phantom Limb Blend, or both. The Banko Dhadato Cooperative sits in the southern portion of the greater Yirgacheffe coffee region, closer to Gedeb woreda than Yirgacheffe town itself, and to the east, high up on the ridge dividing the zone from the Guji region. We’ve found ourselves consistently gravitating to these higher, eastward Yirgs, be they from the Yirgacheffe Union or private washing stations like Worka Chelbesa and Danche. We’re tasting jasmine + honeysuckle florals, peach candy, melon, and creamy-bright limoncello in this season’s Banko Dhadato, and we’re stoked to showcase this coffee as our final washed Ethiopia of the 2025 harvest!
