Established in 1966, Marimira was the fourth washing station built by the Iyego Farmers’ Cooperative Society. Situated at 1500-1700 masl on the slopes of the Aberdare Range, the station sits in a biodiverse environment surrounded by indigenous forest, and home to antelope, jackals, and a variety of native bird species. Around 600 smallholder farmers contribute to Marimira’s total production, cultivating primarily SL28 and SL34 varietals, along with Batian and Ruiru 11 - varieties known for both resilience and cup quality
