Decaf Shakeout Blend
About This Coffee
The current version of Decaf Shakeout is made entirely from coffee sourced from family-owned farms organized under the Cooperativa de Producción Tzeltal-Tzotzil, a group operating across 26 Indigenous communities in the northern region of Chiapas, Mexico. Producers use their own micro-mills to process harvested cherries, allowing for meticulous care during depulping, fermentation, and drying. The coffee is cultivated on small farms, averaging less than 10 acres in size. In addition to coffee, members of Tzeltal-Tzotzil also produce approximately 80 tons of honey. The cooperative is committed to organic practices that protect the environment and to producing high-quality coffee, helping members earn higher incomes and improve their families' livelihoods. Like all decaf coffee at Equator, Decaf Shakeout is decaffeinated using the water process method. This chemical-free technique preserves much of the coffee’s natural flavor, resulting in a rich and flavorful decaffeinated brew.
