About This Coffee
A vibrant, fruit-forward expression of Kona’s volcanic terroir — crafted through selective varietals, modern fermentation, and the artistry of small-lot production. Grown between 1,600–2,500 ft on the western slopes of Hualālai, this limited seasonal lot unites three exceptional varieties: Typica, SL34, and Geisha. The elevation, mineral-rich volcanic soil, and cooling trade winds slow the maturation of the cherry, amplifying sweetness and structure. The 2025 harvest underwent a yeast-fermented washed process, where tailored yeast strains guide the breakdown of fruit mucilage. The result is a washed Kona coffee with the vivid tropical fruit character of a natural — clean, expressive, and structurally refined. First created in 2021 as an experiment in yeast-fermented Kona coffee, Kona Tropical Punch has evolved into a signature of our Discovery Collection. By blending fermentations of different durations and yeast strains, we achieved a sensory profile that captures the exuberant fruit of Hawai‘i’s iconic “tropical punch.” The 2025 release refines that vision — sourced from select Hōlualoa farms, rested in parchment to deepen sweetness, and finished with precision milling and light roasting.
