About This Coffee

Established in 1961, Cocarive (Cooperativa Regional dos Cafeicultores do Vale do Rio Verde) was created to boost productivity and coffee quality, aiming for better global pricing and greater control over their futures. This vision has helped the Serra de Mantiqueira gain recognition as one of Brazil's premier coffee regions, earning a Protected Denomination of Origin status. Producers from Mantiqueira De Minas have won over 358 awards at the Cup of Excellence, including the highest score ever recorded for any Brazilian coffee. The coffee that we purchase from Cocarive is a regional blend.  It is a blend of coffees from various cooperative members and the intention behind blending is to maintain a consistent flavor profile year over year.  In the cup we find notes of dark chocolate, peanut butter and honey.
