Kaʻū Darkwood is a bold, full-bodied dark roast crafted from 100% Kaʻū coffee — the same origin and beans as our celebrated Kaʻū Morning Glory, but roasted deeper to unlock a different range of flavors. With rich notes of fudge, molasses, blackberry, vanilla, and spruce, this coffee delivers a silky, layered experience that satisfies both black coffee purists and those who enjoy milk-based drinks. Carefully crafted from a proprietary blend of exquisite coffee varieties grown grown in the southern district of Hawai‘i Island, Kaʻū Darkwood draws its character from nutrient-rich volcanic soil, sunny days, and misty afternoons — a climate that produces some of the world’s most celebrated coffees.  To preserve its exceptional flavor and vibrancy, our Kaʻū coffees are milled and graded shortly before roastingat our own farm and mill. This attention to freshness ensures that every roast showcases the complexities of Kaʻū coffee year-round. Versatile and comforting, Kaʻū Darkwood is a favorite among our team for espresso, French press, drip, and cold brew alike. It’s bold enough to shine through milk, yet balanced to enjoy on its own.
